Aproximatelly 15km west of Corfu town is Mirtiotissa beach.
to the famous Glyfada beach but a totally different place, Myrtiotisa is
described by Lawrence Durell as "perhaps the most beautiful beach in Europe" and
it exerts its own magnetic charm! Breathtaking cliffs covered with
trees and crystal water in front; create an image you can't easily
forget. Preferred by naturists of all ages it has been established as
Corfu's secret paradise for years. Located in an unspoiled, natural and isolated spot is suitable for nude bathing and free camping.
Surely you will find a part of yourself there. And as most of its admirers do, you will come time and again. Myrtiotissa beach is where relaxation and excitement come together. A unique place!
Few tips how to get to Myrtiotisa: a.
Take the green bus from the new port central station and get down at
Mirtiotisa beach bus stop, there is also a sign pointing the way,
follow that sign for less than 1km and... there you are!!! (Remember:
daily last bus to Corfu town is at 20:30)
b. If you come by car, make
sure you park it at Elia restaurant parking place, just before the steep dowhill. It will be
secured, besides there isn't enough space for cars down on the beach. Beyond Elia
parking place you drive at your own risk - especially at high season. On a bike
you can get quite easily all the way down to the beach. c. If you take a taxi ask the price first. It helps.
